  1. Purrfect setting!!!!

Use the BB gun to off the rodent while avoiding hitting the cat.

Challanging!!! Fun for the entire family.

And, requires skill and calm nerves, unless you despise cats making near-misses of the rodent still satisfying.

  2. Cats will play with prey. My cat will play with my dog fine, but after a point, the cat always goes for the jugular out of instinct, and the dog, anticipating this move, whines and struggles. Somehow I don’t think the mouse has much of a chance in that scenario.

  3. My friend in Australia keeps a 3.5 meter Olive Python which he caught. When I was at his house, he had put a rabbit in the tank for feeding.

The snake showed no interest (obviously wasn’t hungry). The rabbit became quite chill in there, and at one point, the two of them touched noses. A kiss!

  4. So somehow a cat playing with a pet rat, one it was probably raised with, is somehow a bad thing that makes him useless?

Well, besides being a rather indelicate foodstuff for 1/4 of the world’s population, I can’t think of a single good use for dogs. Dumb, pavlovian, dependent, whiney, messy, drooling morons who just as soon kill and eat you as look at you if you don’t have a treat in hand or a way to get them outside so they can piss or shiat.

  5. Kittah: I guess you’ve never met a dog that catches mice. My Jack Russell (bred originally for Fox hunting) is quite adept.

  6. we’ve advanced as a life race beyond our natural oppositions. cats do not always need to attack and eat mice. tom and jerry was the outro celebration to this. ren and stimpy was the ‘get out the door’.

we’re in such a high water market globally that these things can be overcome by alternatives. you’ll see these pictures of cats sitting down next to squirrels, cheetahs and antelope, lions and lambs, muffins and humans all working alongside, not destroying one another. did you see the one with the waterbuffalo and the lions? it was magical.

this will lead to voluntary evolution and intelligent human organization versus contrived and customary.

  7. Does anyone know what breed of cat that is? He looks exactly like my cat, so I’m curious to know.

  8. What a bunch of moronic posts! The pictures are cute. And i actually think rats, mice are cute too and i feel bad that idiots get enjoyment out of feeding them to their snakes. Kittah is either insane or just messing around because shes a cat lover. Dogs are probably the most innocent wonderful creatures on earth.

  9. lol legaia πŸ˜›
mm i own 5 cats and all of them have different crazy personalities ;D i think its cute that the rat and cat are fwends πŸ˜› hehe very cute piccies x

  10. This is a cat and a young rat, stuck between sliding glass doors and what looks like a storm door. The cat asks to be freed from its prison and becomes resigned and then catatonic when the owners refuse to free it. The space between these doors is likely to be overly hot or overly cold. In this setting, the cat is uncomfortable and upset and is cetainly not in hunting or play mode and so tolerates/ignores the rat. As to the cat versus dog controversy, nothing could be stupider than to value one animal over another. Properly evolved human beings respect and love all other forms of life.

  11. soooooo old man this came out 4 years ago and you didn’t even credit the original author. be original for once!!!!

  12. YOU KNOW WITH THE MAJOR CHANGES IN NATURE, BRINGS UPON CHANGES IN LIFES BEHAVIOR, INCLUDING ANIMALS. SO YOUR WORD WORTHLESS IS’NT CALLED FOR. UNTIL PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO HAVE THE SOLUTION TO DELETE GLOBAL WARMING AND GET IT DONE, I BELIEVE EVERYBODY IS FINDING ALL KINDS OF CHANGES THESE DAYS. SO FIVE YOUR CAT SOME SLACK AND RELAX.

  13. BIT LATE IN POSTING THIS COMMENT BUT ‘OBBOP’ A “NEAR-MISS” IS INFACT A HIT!!! AND THEREFORE IS WRONGLY USED IN YOUR COMMENT.

  14. Cats won’t chase something unless it wants to be chases. If the mouse were to run away, the cat would be interested in attacking. The mouse isn’t afraid, the cat isn’t interested. Simple.

As for the whole cat playing with it’s prey, it wouldn’t cuddle it. The cat would bat at the mouse until it was senseless.

  15. OMG the kitty looks like the firefox and the mouse can be internet explorer DIE MOUSE!!!!!!!!

  16. That’s a domesticated pet rat, not a wild animal. Do you simpletons honestly think a wild animal would pose for a picture??? I have pet rats, and they LOVE my cat, and often hang out/sleep with it. Jesus fucking christ, you children really don’t get out much, much less have the ability to identify a common mammal.

    Fuck you people are stupid.

  17. My cat bought a rat in the other week and I got bitten picking it up to throw it out. One tetanus jab later and a weeks worth of antibiotics and my thumb has nearly healed up!

  18. “A β€œNEAR-MISS” IS INFACT A HIT!!!” (sic)

    Semantics, I suppose.

When calling in NGFS (Naval gunfire support) the term “near miss” was used at that particular time and place to indicate that while the war-shot did miss the desired target the shot was close enough to provide desirable effects (such as keeping the Commies head’s down).

A “full miss” was a worthles shot and a “got the bastards!!!!) should be self-explanatry.

    Hope this enlightened thee.

Besides, I wouldn’t actually use a BB gun on the critters.

I prefer a flame thrower for the fun visual effects.

    Carry on, civilian.

  19. Kittah, you’re a douche. You should read a book. Dogs have helped the blind, the old, police, armies, and other people for a long time. All the while your cat pisses on the carpet, scratches the shit out of your door frame, and brings dead animals into the house.

On a side note, great series of photos. Sorry that your cat sucks.

  20. 1. MICHAEL J. SCHMITZ: chill the fuck out, its a joke.

2.WOW, YO PEOPLE ARE FUCKING STUPID: You have no way of knowing where the rat is from. Maybe, just maybe, the camera-person was in the right place at the right time.

3.Kittah: you are are a “douche”. Please refer to #1

    beside those, great post πŸ™‚

  21. Poor cat he doesn’t know any better. If that was my cat he would of killed that rat the second he got close to it. I saw him once kill a pigeon that landed in our backyard. Guess being 20 lbs helps to take down your prey.

  22. Using internet is simple as hell. But I can tell y ou right now, it can be very hard, if you are the first time user.
So, first thing I suggest – open the Explorer, and type in the address you like.
You’ll get there really fast, it depends on your connection speed.
    Good luck.
